Nowhere is more up-and-coming for International business than Chicago. Home to “The Bean”, Chance the Rapper and a few hours from the home of Wayne and Garth. But we’re also seeing an increase in the number of trips being booked by Traveltrust clients out to the Windy City, so we thought we’d take a look at three of our favourite hotels to stop off at…

The Peninsula

Do a quick google search for “best hotel in Chicago” and you’ll see the Peninsula top lists time and time again, and for good reason. It’s got all you need, and it’s located on the “Magnificent Mile”, which couldn’t be more central.

The Peninsula takes stunning inspiration from its Hong Kong roots (something highly enjoyed by our Managing director Noah) and it’s not just the décor, the tech in the room could give any Asian high tech hotel a run for it’s money.

With regards to amenities, it has all you could want from a 5-star hotel, free internet, a mini-fridge, even a TV and waterproof remote in the bath! (yes, it IS as cool as it sounds). For the businessmen and women out there, the Business center has all you’ll need. Complimentary shoe shining is provided so you can continue to look your killer best at your meetings.

Given it’s location, you’re close to EVERYTHING, and with this hotel quality is everything. it’s hard to look past this hotel to any others.. But, we did..

The Thompson

Modern. Meet grand class. The Thompson believes you two will get on quite well.

And by god they do, from the gorgeous lobby with its grand fireplace to the modern brickwork rooms, The Thompson oozes a je ne sais quoi that you rarely get from a hotel. (and we see a LOT of hotels here at Traveltrust – so we should be able to pinpoint it!)

Floor to ceiling windows of Lake Michigan or the Magnificent Mile will leave your jaw truly dropped. Even better, if you get yourself a room with a patio/balcony you’ll probably not be able to get yourself out the room. Add to that the eloquently-designed bathrooms with a rainfall showerhead, providing a relaxing shower after a tough day of meetings.

The hotel also offers a gym and business center, as well as the “Chicago 7 Ballroom” which features floor-to-ceiling windows offering the one of the greatest views of the city.

The only downside to this hotel? No pool. But if the quick dip wasn’t your thing anyway we cant think of a reason not to stop by The Thompson.

The Langham

The Langham is the fairly new kid on the block, opening in 2013 and offering guests some unrivalled riverfront views.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, and feature the signature “Blissful Bed” expected of the Langham brand. As well as a 55 inch TV for your evening pleasure you can relax in the deep soaking bath tub.

The Langham’s onsite spa is a little on the pricier side, but well worth checking out as a treat-your-self kind of thing. And if you were wondering where the pool went from The Thompson – we found it! The Langham must have tacked it onto the end of their pool because it’s a massive 67 feet long.

The gym also offers premium fitness classes, so if you are planning on taking an extended trip these might help keep you fit whilst away from home.

Any of the above choices are guaranteed to keep you comfy away from home on business, however there are hundreds of hotels to choose from, and we know it can be tough – Luckily, Traveltrust agents are always on hand to help guide and advise you through the choices. And we can also offer rates you can’t get yourself! To speak to us about our great rates and service, get in touch via [email protected]
